Star Fleet Sportfishing was established by Bill Heimpel Sr. Through the years a number of clients from around the world have fished in these waters for marlin, sailfish, swordfish, tuna and shark. For example stars like Glenn Ford, John Wayne, Richard Farnsworth and Burt Lancaster have brought international fame to these world-class waters.

The equipment and captains of Star Fleet are considered the best in Mazatlan. The Fleet consists of 14 boats from 34 to 43 feet, all of which meet U.S. Coast Guard standards.
